An apparatus includes first and second lens apparatuses, which have first and second focus lenses, first and second driving units that drive the first and second focus lenses, first and second detectors that detect first and second in-focus information of an object by phase difference detection, and first and second controllers that control driving of the first and second focus lenses. The first controller sets a first target position based on the first in-focus information detected by the first detector and drives the first focus lens. The second controller obtains the first target position or information corresponding to the first target position from the first lens apparatus, sets focus range based on the first target position or the information corresponding to the first target position, and drives the second focus lens based on the focus range and the second in-focus information detected by the second detector. |
