PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage battery low in cost, high in environmental compatibility, and capable of exhibiting high performance.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a nonaqueous electrolyte. The positive electrode contains a positive electrode active material comprising a transition metal compound including at least one or more elements selected from the group consisting of O, S, F, Cl, Br and I. The total of the weight-based contents of the at least one or more elements selected from the group consisting of O, S, F, Cl, Br and I in the positive electrode active material is larger in a state where the nonaqueous battery is charged than in a state where discharged. |
