PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide systems, apparatuses, and methods for a relay station for use in a communication system with a base station and user equipment (UE).SOLUTION: A base station transmits downlink (DL) assignment and data to UE (1002), and determines if the DL data is decoded by a relay station (1003). If the DL data is decoded by the relay station, a pre-assignment is transmitted from the base station to the relay station (1006) and the decoded DL data is transmitted from the relay station to the UE (1010). If the DL data is not decoded by the relay station, a negative acknowledgement (NAK) signal is transmitted from the relay station to the base station (1020) and the DL assignment and data is re-transmitted from the base station to the UE (1024). |
