<p>Thiophene derivs. of formula (I) and their acid addn. salts are new (where R1 and R2 are H, 1-6c akyl, alkenyl, alkynyl or aralkyl, opt. substd. in the phenyl ring by >=1 halo, 1-3C alkyl or 1-6c alkoxy). Also new are intermediates of formulae (II) and (III). (I) are antimflammatories and analgesics useful in human and veterinary medicine. The cpd. 1,3-dimethyl -3-(2-thienyl)pyrrolidine has intravenous LD50 in mice of 49 mg kg. and oral LD50 >250 mg/kg. The usual oral dose is 0.05-1 g/day.</p> |
