PURPOSE: A directional electric steel sheet and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to manufacture the directional electric steel sheet in low costs by reducing the amount of oxides and an Al group precipitate on a steel sheet secondly recrystallized by minimizing the disturbance of magnetic section movement. CONSTITUTION: A slab is heated and is rolled with heating. Cold rolling of one time or the cold rolling over two times including intermediate annealing is performed. Decarbonizing and recrystallization annealing are performed. A second recrystallization annealing is performed. The slab is comprises of 2.0-4.5 % of Si, 0.001-0.10 % of C, below 0.010 % of Al, below 0.08 of Mn, below 0.005 % of N, 0.002-0.050 % of S, 0.0005-0.10 % Bi, 0.001-0.15 % of Nb, a remainder Fe, and impurities.
