<p>A permanent hair-waving solution comprising as its main ingredients a sulfide, hydrosulfide or mercaptan compound and an air oxidation accelerator characterized by further containing a sulfite compound, the molar ratio of the sulfite to the sulfide, hydrosulfide or mercaptan compound being at least 1:1, said solution containing free alkali to give a pH of from 8 to 11 and containing also an aqueous carrier for said compounds and said alkali. The solution can be used even when cold to impart a permanent wave to hair.</p> |
