The present invention relates to an image sensor and a manufacturing method thereof. A rear light emitting type image sensor according to the present invention includes a substrate having the front and the rear, a light receiving area formed on the front of the substrate, and a rear light emitting type sensor including a micro lens integrated with the substrate and formed on the rear of the substrate.
