<p>An optical alignment system 2 for aligning an optical component 4 comprising an alignment component 12 moveable in a plane and to hold an optical fibre Mechanical Transfer ferrule 4 in a fixed relationship and a driving component 22, moveable relative to the alignment element 12 in a first linear direction which is not parallel to said plane and when the drive component 22 is forced in the first linear direction and in contact with the alignment part, it applies a force on the alignment module 12 to move the fiber optic 4 in the plane. The component to apply the force 22 may be a ball headed adjustment screw and the first linear direction can be substantially perpendicular to the plane. Also disclosed is an alignment component 12 with a plurality of alignment surfaces and an alignment frame 18 with a plurality of through holes to accommodate driving components.</p> |
