The advantages of the combined combustion of diesel fuel and liquefied gas (suppression or reduction of the formation of soot and nitrogen oxides) are preserved if a fuel, containing 5 to less than 230 parts by weight of liquefied gas and also 100 parts by weight of diesel fuel, in particular 5 to 95 parts by weight of liquefied gas and 100 parts by weight of diesel fuel, if appropriate together with usual additives, are used for running diesel engines.
