The invention relates to a pattern-control device on a sewing machine, which can preferably be used on domestic sewing machines. The aim of the invention is to provide a simple pattern-selecting device which works with high operating reliability, can be produced economically and is also easy to assemble and adjust. At the same time, the displacement of the pivot axis of the cam follower along an arc of a circle and further bearing points are to be avoided. Only the axis of the pivoting frame and the shaft on which the setting control roller is mounted are used as bearing points. According to the invention, the cam follower and the setting lever are mounted rotatably on the axis of the pivoting frame and are connected by means of a coupling member. The coupling member fastened to the cam follower in an articulated manner possesses, at the other end, a flange-like element which engages into a slot resembling a long hole in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the setting lever and which is connected to a first control cam. <IMAGE>
