PURPOSE:To make possible the stable winding of a quartz hollow fiber on a take-up device in a manner so as not to kink by forming the section of said fiber into a D shape and using the same as a chromatographic tube. CONSTITUTION:A quartz base material is melted in a spinning furnace and is spun by a spinning mouth die formed into the D shape, by which the hollow fiber 2 having the D-shaped section is formed. A coating layer 3 is provided to the outside circumference of such fiber 2. The resulted fiber 1 is taken up on the take-up device 11. Since the section of the quartz hollow fiber for chromatograph is formed into the D shape, the stable winding on the take-up device in a manner so as not to kink is made possible.
