POROUS, HOLLOW YARN MEMBRANE

PURPOSE:To give sufficient hydrophilic nature and to perform filtration and separation over a wide range by applying carboxymethylethyl cellulose on both the surface of a peripheral wall part and the inner surfaces of fine holes of a hollow yarn base material having many fine through-holes in the peripheral wall part. CONSTITUTION:A hollow yarn base material 4 having many fine through-holes 7 in a peripheral wall part 2 is produced by using a high molecular material such as polyolefin, a high molecular compd. contg. fluorine and polysulfone and an inorganic material such as glass and ceramic. The hollow yarn base material having 10-1,000mu outer diameter, 10-500mu thickness of the peripheral wall part 2 and 0.01-50mu hole diameter is preferably used. Both the surface of the peripheral wall part 2 and the inner surfaces of fine holes 7 of this hollow yarn base material 4 are coated with carboxymethylethyl cellulose. Carboxymethylethyl cellulose contg. 8.9-14.9wt% carboxymethyl group and 32.5-43wt% ethyl group is favorably used. Concn. within the range of 0.05-10wt% is preferable as the concn. of a coating soln.
