发明名称 DEVICE AND METHOD FOR POLARIZATION OF THIN POLYMER LAYERS IN RESTRICTED SURFACE AREA
摘要 The invention concerns the field of optics and electronics and can be used in the industry of electro optical modulators and generators, switches, various sensors, electrostatic filters and other. Its goal is to increase the poling efficiency of thin polymer film. For poling of limited area of thin polymer film a corona triode is used. It consists of corona electrode, a grid and a flat reference electrode. The sample – a thin polymer film is located on the flat reference electrode which is located on a dielectric substrate which is in thermal contact with the heater. A mask is put between the sample surface and the grid. The mask limits the poling area of thin polymer film (Fig.1). The space of corona triode is filled with gas for example with nitrogen. According to the described method the surface of the mask which faces the grid is covered with a thin dielectric layer or the metallic mask is substituted by a mask made of dielectric material. The mask can have a single or multiple holes meant for ion flow. Moreover, the holes can have arbitrary shape, for example, a circle. The proposed method for poling limited area of thin polymer films shows increased poling efficiency (Fig.4) and can therefore improve the electrical and optical parameters of devices in which thin poled films are used.
