PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device configured to accurately estimate the power to be consumed by a heater where rush current occurs.SOLUTION: An image forming device includes a fixing unit that adjusts the temperature of a fixing roller 131 by selecting a heating state or a non-heating state, forms a fixing nip by pressing a pressure roller 132 against a peripheral surface of the fixing roller 131, and thermally fixes a toner image on a recording sheet passing through the fixing nip. The image forming device includes: basic power consumption storage means that stores basic power consumption to be consumed when power is supplied to a heater 131a while no rush current occurs in the heating state; a control part 6 which estimates the power to be consumed additionally by the rush current which occurs when the heating state is selected, on the basis of duration of the non-heating state immediately before the mode is changed from the non-heating state to the hating state, to estimate power consumption of the heater 131a by adding the additionally consumed power to the basic power consumption; and an operation panel 7 which displays a result estimated by the control part 6. |
