PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device configured to maintain image quality of an output image without causing a user of the image forming device to perform operation for adjusting image quality.SOLUTION: An image forming device includes: receiving means for receiving a print job; image forming means for recording an image on a sheet; extraction means for extracting a partial image to be substituted as a patch to be used for density detection from a normal image of the print job to be formed by the image forming means; and image reading means that reads image density information of the partial image extracted and fixed on the sheet. Image quality is adjusted on the basis of the image density information of the read partial image.
