PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a core of coil type electronic component, a coil type electronic component and a manufacturing method of core of coil type electronic component capable of expanding a region for winding wire wound on a core section of the coil type electronic component up to the end of the core section while preventing cracks or breaks during core formation of the coil type electronic component.SOLUTION: In the core of coil type electronic component, a core section 11a is wound with a winding wire 13. Flanges 11b are formed at both ends of the core section 11a extending around the core section 11a in a direction perpendicular to an axial direction of the core section 11a. A concave portion D1 is formed at a corner which is formed by adjacent surface S100 of the flange 11b neighboring the core section 11a and an end face S3 positioned in a first perpendicular direction which is one of extending directions of the flange 11b. A connection surface S7 connecting a connection portion L1 where the flange 11b abuts on the core section 11a and the end face S3 is at least one of the inner peripheral surface of the concave portion D1. Every normal vector of the connection surface S7 has an element in a first perpendicular direction.
