PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for decoding a moving image and a method for encoding a moving image which can reduce delay in processing and achieve highly efficient encoding at the same time.SOLUTION: The method for decoding a moving image includes a determination step, a selection step and a decoding step. The determination step is a step for determining whether a target image is an intra-frame prediction image decoded by intra-frame prediction, the target image being at a reference viewpoint prior to an image to be decoded in the decoding order, and included in an encoded stream obtained by encoding moving images of a plurality of viewpoints including a reference viewpoint and a viewpoint other than the reference viewpoint. The selection step is a step for selecting a first reference image, when it is determined that the target image is the intra-frame prediction image, from the target image and an image decoded on the basis of the target image, which are reproduced at the same time as the image to be decoded, and does not correspond to a viewpoint different from that of the image to be decoded. The decoding step is a step for decoding the image to be decoded by using the first reference image. |
