<p>#CMT# #/CMT# The apparatus (10) has a conveyor belt (16) for retaining a row (12) of labels (14). The conveyor belt is guided over a belt guide (32) for changing belt course. The belt is deflected by a tilting lever (34) of the belt guide such that dispensing edges (48, 60) of label dispensers (40, 42) are fixedly arranged at the belt guide, and the tilting lever is pivotable between two positions. The belt is arranged in one of the positions for retaining the labels at one of the dispensing edges and in the other position for retaining the labels at the other dispensing edge. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Labeling apparatus for use in a transverse path labeling machine for labeling articles i.e. packages. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The apparatus avoids the need for an additional printer on each dispenser for imprinting the labels so that construction complexity of the apparatus is reduced.
