PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an encoder capable of detecting a position with high accuracy and high resolution.SOLUTION: The encoder includes a cylindrical part which is rotatable in a circumferential direction, a scale part which is attached to the cylindrical part, and a detection part which detects the position of the cylindrical part by using the scale part. The cylindrical part includes a fixation holding part which holds the scale part, a scale holding part which is configured to be movable in the circumferential direction of the cylindrical part and holds the scale part, and a scale energizing part which energizes the scale part toward the side of the fixation holding part through the scale holding part to attach the scale part to the inner peripheral wall of the cylindrical part. |
