摘要 The fibre (I) with a tenacity of at least 4.0 g/d comprises a copolyester (II) with a degree of polymerisation 80-100 which includes an acid component contg. 1.0-2.0 mol.% metal sulphoisophthalic residues (III) and 0.5-1.9 wt.% of a glycol residue from a glycol (IV) of mol. wt. 400-6000. Also claimed is a method of making (I) which comprises spinning (II) in a spinneret (V) and then drawing the resultant fibres. (IV) is a polyalkylene glycol of formula A(CnH2nO)mH (where A is C1H2++10 deg. or OH, 1 is 1-10; n is 2-5 and m is 3-100) derived from a low mol. wt. glycol comprising ethylene glycol or 1.4-butane diol.
