PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-diagnostic method for a transmission device and a transmission system capable of mutually performing self-diagnoses on transmission data error of the same data by a transmission side and a reception side at each transmission device connected to a network.SOLUTION: A self-diagnostic method for a transmission system 100 includes each of transmission devices 20 to n0 which includes each of coding parts 21 to n1 for generating different error detection codes, respectively. Self-diagnoses for transmission error detection are performed at mutual transmission devices by comparing an error detection code transmitted to a destination device by own device, added to transmission data, and an error detection code replied by the destination device.
