PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery low in initial negative electrode resistance and suppressed in rising of negative electrode resistance due to usage.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery provided by the present invention includes structuring a battery cell including: a positive electrode including a positive electrode active material; a negative electrode including a negative electrode active material; and a nonaqueous electrolyte including a nonaqueous solvent and an oxalateborate type compound. The method also includes charging the battery cell to form a coat on the negative electrode, the coat being a coat derived from the oxalateborate type compound and including boron and oxalic acid ions. The method further includes subjecting the battery cell to modification treatment for increasing a ratio of the number mof moles of boron included relative to the number mof moles of oxalic acid ions included, in the coat. |
