The method involves emitting an ultrasonic wave (E4) of a predetermined frequency such that the ultrasonic wave passes through a rewritable radiological film to be tested. The ultrasonic wave passed through the rewritable radiological film to be tested is received. An attenuation of the received ultrasonic wave is measured (E6). Amplitude of the ultrasonic wave is measured (E3). The emission of the ultrasonic wave, the reception of the ultrasonic wave, and attenuation of the wave are repeated till a predetermined threshold. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for controlling a rewritable radiological film (2) a computer program product comprising instructions for performing the method for checking the rewritable radiological film (3) a recording medium with instructions for performing the method for checking the radiological film.
