PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and high-precision water level sensor capable of being attached without undermining a liquidtight state of a storage tank and capable of continuously detecting a liquid level of fluid stored in the storage tank.SOLUTION: A water level sensor 100 of the invention includes: a liquid contact detection part 103 for detecting the contact with liquid; a holding part 104 disposed in a storage tank 4 for storing liquid for holding the liquid contact detection part 103; and a suction part 105 disposed so as to move to the outer wall surface 4D of the storage tank 4 so that the suction part 105 and the holding part 104 suction each other in a non-contact manner, and the suction part 105 presses the holding part 104 against the inner wall surface 4c of the storage tank 4. The holding part 104 and the suction part 105 are configured so that one of them has a magnet 106 and the other has a metal or a magnetic material, or both of them have a magnet 106.
