The invention relates to a thermoplastic composition comprising: at least one starch; at least one starch plasticiser; and at least one functional polyolefin which is a copolymer of ethylene, of at least one ester (A) selected from among carboxylic acid vinyl esters and (meth)acrylic acid esters, and optionally of at least one additional monomer copolymerised with the ethylene and the ester (A). According to the invention, the copolymer is also grafted with at least one functional compound selected from unsaturated carboxylic acid anhydrides, unsaturated carboxylic acids, unsaturated ethylene oxides and unsaturated silanes, preferably maleic anhydride. This composition has improved properties and can be used in particular to produce films.
