The device (1) has loading switches (8,9) that are arranged between respective terminals (4,5) of charging capacitor and battery contacts (6,7). A current limiter (10) is arranged between terminal (4) of charging capacitor and battery contact (6) while the charging capacitor is switched. The current limiter is arranged between terminal (5) of charging capacitor and battery contact (7) so that unwanted loading current is not conducted to charging capacitor. A charging current (I) flows through current limiter is directed from battery to charging capacitor.
