PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To notify, when an image forming apparatus notifies a post-processing apparatus of end processing, the post-processing apparatus of an end notification from the image forming apparatus by supplying power to a path device serving as a path of the end notification.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus capable of communicating with a post-processing apparatus includes execution means for executing shifting processing for shifting the image forming apparatus into a power saving state, notification means for notifying the post-processing apparatus that the execution means executes the shifting processing, and power control means for controlling power supply to the execution means and the notification means. When the execution means executes the shifting processing, if the power supply to the notification means has been stopped, the power control means supplies power to the notification means, and the notification means to which the power has been supplied by the power control means transmits a notification that the execution means performs the shifting processing to the post-processing apparatus. |
