PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet image forming apparatus, which has an intermediate transfer body having an elastic body in which resistivity in a dot area of a recording liquid is homogenized, containing a carbon nanotube having an aspect ratio of less than 1×10on a surface, capable of forming an image in which a blur is suppressed without using a processing liquid, by allowing a head to apply the recording liquid such as ink or the like to the intermediate transfer body.SOLUTION: The ink jet image forming apparatus includes: an intermediate transfer body 37 to which an electrically-conductive recording liquid is applied from heads 61Y, 61M, 61C, 61BK (hereinafter referred to as "head 61Y or the like") and which has an electrically-conductive elastic layer 37b on a surface; and means 33 which applies voltage between the intermediate transfer body 37 and the head 61Y or the like so that the electrically-conductive recording liquid, discharged from the head 61Y or the like and bridging between the head and the elastic layer 37b, is electrolyzed. The elastic layer 37b contains a carbon nanotube having an aspect ratio of less than 1×10at a content of 1.5 wt.% or more and 7.0 wt.% or less. |
