The vehicle door (1) has main portion (3) to which frame module (2) is fixed in final assembly state. A window pane (20) is guided along direction of guide rails (22,23). An adjusting device (24) is configured to adjust window pane along adjustment direction (V). The adjusting device has drive unit (240) that is coupled to traction unit (241) for introducing displacing force. The drive unit is provided in pre-assembly state in which frame module separates from main portion. Securing elements supported on window pane are fixed in final assembled state of main portion. An independent claim is included for a method for assembling vehicle door.
