PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catheter where both operability and stability are achieved.SOLUTION: A guiding catheter 10 comprises a shaft 12 having a distal end part. An outer front surface of the shaft 12 comprises: an abutment area 25 to be abutted to an ascending aorta wall when the distal end part is engaged with an opening of a coronary artery; and a low friction coefficient area 35 having a friction coefficient lower than that of the abutment area 25. The low friction area 35 is positioned at a subclavian artery when the guiding catheter 10 is inserted from the radial artery of a right wrist and the abutment area 25 is arranged at an ascending aorta. |
