The solid electrolyte is prepared by mixing and reacting 5-20% gellating agent and 1-20% filler in a dilute sulfuric acid. The gellating agent is SiO2 having 0.05-0.1μm particle diameter and 50-100 m2/g specific surface area, the filler being chosen from calium sulfate, calcium aluminosilicate, calcium aluminium hydroxide, calcium fluorophosphate, CaMoO4, CaO, calcium peroxide, calcium silicate, or calcium stearic acid. The battery is manufactured by (1) soaking electrode plate in a dilute sulfuric acid for 1 hr, followed by drying and cooling with a sulfuric acid (40g conc. H2SO4+40g distilled water), and (2) doping the above electrolyte on the dried electrode plate.
