PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a concentrated type liquid detergent for an automatic dish washer which has preferable viscosity without any problem in storage stability. SOLUTION: The liquid detergent for the automatic dish washer contains: (a) a low molecular chelating agent; (b) a polymer having an acrylic acid unit and a maleic acid unit; (c) an alkali agent; (d) (d1) a compound expressed by formula (1), or the compound expressed by formula (1) and (d2) PPG; (e) a compound expressed by formula (2); (f) a thickener; and water. Wherein, (a)/(b) is 0.1-20, total of (a) and (b) is 10-30%, (d)/(e) is 1-300, the viscosity at 20°C is 500-5,000 mPa s, and pH at 25°C is 8-11. Formula (1) is R<SP>1</SP>(OC<SB>2</SB>H<SB>4</SB>)<SB>1</SB>/(OC<SB>3</SB>H<SB>6</SB>)<SB>m</SB>OH (wherein R<SP>1</SP>is an 8-18C hydrocarbon and 1 and M are each an average addition number of molecules), and formula (2) is R<SP>2</SP>-(G)<SB>n</SB>(wherein R<SP>2</SP>expresses a 6-18C hydrocarbon, G expresses a residual group originating in reducing sugar and (n) is an average condensation degree).
