The present invention relates to a milling insert (4) and a milling tool (1) to mill a slot in a workpiece (2). The milling insert comprises: a bottom side (11); an opposite top side (12) which is a chip surface and parallel to an extension plane, and an edge side (13) between the bottom side and the top side. A cutting edge which extends between the edge side and the chip surface comprises: a first main cutting edge (15), a second main cutting edge (16), and an end cutting edge (17). The end cutting edge (17) connects the first main cutting edge and the second main cutting edge, and adjoins the first main cutting edge and the second main cutting edge at a first transition point (15') and at a second transition point (16') respectively. A normal to the extension plane of the chip surface and the edge side along the cutting edge form an acute clearance angle. The end cutting edge is curved from the first transition point to the second transition point.
