<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device having a capacitance element which flattens a pixel electrode to suppress liquid crystal alignment defects for obtaining a sufficient capacitance without causing decrease in numerical aperture. <P>SOLUTION: A semiconductor device includes a light shielding film on a thin film transistor, a capacitance insulating film on the light shielding film, a conducting layer on the capacitance insulating film, and a pixel electrode to be electrically connected to the conducting layer. A holding capacitance element is formed by the light shielding film, the capacitance insulating film and the conducting layer so that the area of the region serving as a capacitance element can be increased. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT</p> |
