PURPOSE:To provide a two-staged bio-reactor capable of largely improving the producibility of a sugar in comparison with conventional bio-reactors, and to provide a method for producing the sugar. CONSTITUTION:In a reactor A, culture temperature is kept at a temperature most suitable for the multiplication of chlorella, and light is supplied to the chlorella from lamps 3. While the interior of the reactor A is stirred with a stirring mechanism 5, the multiplication of the chlorella is performed. Just before nitrogen contained in a medium in the reactor A is exhausted, the chlorella produced in the reactor A is injected into a reactor B as a chlorella suspension. In the reactor B, culture temperature is kept at a temperature lower than that of the reactor A, and light is supplied from lamps 4. While the interior of the reactor B is stirred with a stirring mechanism 6, the chlorella is cultured. |
