A display device and a driving method thereof are provided to improve image quality by modulating image data using at least one of plural FRC(Frame Rate Control) patterns. An image comparator(603) compares a grayness of image data of a previous frame with a grayness of the image data of a current frame. A memory includes plural data elements having first and second values and includes plural FRC data patterns, which increase the number of data elements having the first value at different ratios. A data processor(601) selects one of the FRC data patterns from the memory according to a compared result from the image comparator and modulates the image data of the current frame by using the selected FRC data pattern. |
