The invention relates to a dowel having a cylindrical tube (1) which has an expandable end region (2) and into which an essentially rod-like expanding element (3) can be fitted. In order to increase the expansion effect with simple construction and an easy expansion capability of the dowel, and in order to provide reliable anchorage of the dowel even in porous materials, it is provided that the tube (1) have side recesses (4) in which in each case one wedge element (5) is arranged, that the wedge element (5) be supported on the tube (1) such that it can pivot, and that the wedge element (5) be capable of pivoting into the tube (1), essentially completely inside the external contour of said tube (1). <IMAGE> |
