The present invention pertains to a device and a method for treating ship ballast water, wherein residual chlorine is generated by the electrolysis of a part of introduced ballast water in an electrolytic bath when the ballast water is introduced into the ballast water storage tank of a ship, the result is mixed with the introduced ballast water and introduced and stored in the ballast water storage tank of the ship. Therefore, hazard microorganisms and germs are sterilized by the sterilization effects of the residual chlorine, and the concentration of the residual chlorine is reduced to a suitable degree by injecting a neutralizing agent when discharging the ballast water so as to discharge the ballast water. The method and device for treating ship ballast water according to the present invention can treat ballast water by having superior efficiency without generating environmental pollution when compared to conventional ballast water filtering methods and chemical treatments. |
