PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve recording quality of a recording medium, a real time property of recording, and the number of new write operations.SOLUTION: A recording device is capable of recording information on a recording medium including, on a recording layer, a user data area for recording user data, spare areas that are areas used for an alternative of a defect position in the user data area and are provided on an inner peripheral side and an outer peripheral side of the user data area, and an OPC area used for recording power adjustment of a laser beam. The recording power adjustment is executed by using at least a part of the spare areas. |
