<p>Provided is an in-plane switching active matrix liquid-crystal display device whereby afterimages can be alleviated. One pixel comb electrode (109B) among a plurality of pixel comb electrodes (109) is thicker than other pixel comb electrodes (109) and shared comb electrodes (110), and has the same thickness as that of a shared shield electrode (110B) which covers a video signal line (104) via a second insulation film. A display region is split into two sub-regions by the thick pixel comb electrode (109B). In each respective sub-region, the number of pixel comb electrodes (109) and the number of shared comb electrodes (110) are the same. The thickness of the shared shield electrode (110B) and the thick pixel comb electrode (109B) are the same, and electrical concentration near the pixel comb electrodes is alleviated. Given structural symmetry, electrical potential distribution is symmetrical, and asymmetry of inter-frame lighting is alleviated. Thus, a post-flicker adjustment video signal DC offset component is reduced, and afterimages are alleviated.</p> |
