PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a focus adjustment device capable of causing a user to visibly recognize a focused subject more reliably in a camera which has multipoint range-finding points and performs autofocus.SOLUTION: A focus adjustment device which performs focused display in a display area accompanying control of a focus lens position includes: signal generating means for outputting a pair of image signals generated by performing photo-electric conversion onto light on a subject having passed through a photographic optical system, from a focus detection area having a plurality of corresponding display areas; and control means for detecting a phase difference on the basis of the pair of image signals output from the focus detection area so as to control a position of a focus lens on the basis of the detection result, and detecting a phase difference between divided areas obtained by dividing the focus detection area so as to perform focused display in the display area accompanying the control of the focus lens position on the basis of the detection result. |
