Industrial dishwashing machine

The dishwashing machine has a number of cleaning stages (2-4) through which the dishes are transported via transport device (10). A sensor is provided at the entry point of the dishes by a pivoted hoop (15), which is deflected upon detection of an over-sized dish, for automatic cut-out of the transport device. The sensor is spaced ahead of the input opening for the dishes by a distance sufficient for the transport device to be brought to a standstill after automatic cut-out before the over-sized dish reaches the input opening.
