PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photosensitive material and its emulsion high in sensitivity and low in fog, even in the case of undergoing ultrahigh-speed processing, and superior in silver tone and bending and pressure resistance and storage stability with the lapse of time. SOLUTION: Silver halide grains are made from soluble silver salts and halides, and then, thiocyanates are added so that the thiocyanate compounds may be added to the surfaces of the silver halide grains in the final photosensitive material or the emulsion in an amount of 2.0×10<-3> -2.0×10<-2> mol/mol of silver halide l before or after desalting the silver halide grains the ultrafiltration method.
