The present invention relates to a method for communications, comprising: when a base station receives downlink data through a first system bearer of first user equipment, the base station according to the context of the first user equipment stored therein detecting whether there is a radio bearer of user equipment other than the first user equipment in the base station for assisting the first user equipment or the first system bearer in data transmission; if the radio bearer exists, the base station selecting at least one user equipment from the first user equipment and the user equipment other than the first user equipment, for transmitting the downlink data; and the base station sending the downlink data through a designated radio bearer corresponding to the at least one user equipment. The method and the device can be applied to improve the data transmission throughput and reliability of user equipment.
