PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal type flowmeter excellent in measurement accuracy by forming a highly-reliable communication channel communicating between a void formed on a back surface of a flow detecting element and the outside.SOLUTION: A thermal type flowmeter includes: a metal substrate 536 on which a flow detecting element 602 is mounted; a circuit package body 410 molded from a polymeric resin 401; and a communication channel forming cover 420 molded from a polymeric resin 402. A metal frame 423 is formed along a communication channel 676 on a surface of the communication channel forming cover 420. The frame 423 and the substrate 536 are bonded together via an adhesive 533.
