PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulic shovel capable of more appropriately regulating a flow rate of return oil.SOLUTION: The hydraulic shovel related to an embodiment of the present invention includes: a main pump 14; an arm cylinder 8 connected to the main pump 14 through a control valve 17; a flow regulating valve 35 disposed between the arm cylinder 8 and a tank; and a flow rate balance part 40 for controlling the flow regulating valve 35 according to a power running brake state of the arm cylinder 8, which is determined on the basis of a pressure of a rod side pressure chamber 8R and a pressure of a bottom side pressure chamber 8B of the arm cylinder 8. |
