<p>The method involves monitoring surrounding of an ego-vehicle, determining free spaces in the surrounding and determining approach of an object e.g. person, to the ego-vehicle and collision probability of the object with the ego-vehicle. Speed of the ego-vehicle is determined by a data processing device (6), where the approach of the object is determined by comparison of approach speed of the object with the speed of the ego-vehicle. An action for collision prevention or for preventing collision damages is executed by outputting acoustical and/or optical warning signal to the object. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program for preventing collision or preventing collision damage during collision of ego-vehicle and object (2) a driver assistance system.</p> |
