Disclosed is a device for saving WIFI power consumption, comprising: a calibration module configured to calibrate the transmit power of a WIFI chip which has already been connected with a wireless access point AP, the transmit power of the WIFI chip being calibrated to a minimum power satisfying the normal connection between the AP and the WIFI chip. Also disclosed at the same time is a method for saving the WIFI power consumption. The adoption of the device and method in the present invention can prolong the service time of batteries of terminal equipment on the premise of ensuring normal use of the terminal equipment by a user. |
