The present invention provides a saline wastewater treatment device with which sodium chloride can be highly efficiently converted into an effectively utilizable substance in high yield with reduced environmental burdens. This device for treating saline wastewater comprises: a concentrator which concentrates the saline wastewater; an electrolytic tank in which the saline wastewater concentrated by the concentrator is electrolyzed; and an electric power generator which generates electric energy that is necessary for practicing the electrolysis of the saline wastewater in the decomposition layer. The device is equipped with: salt concentration meters which have been respectively disposed in the positive-electrode chamber and negative-electrode chamber of the electrolytic tank; an ammeter which measures an electric current flowing between the positive electrode and the negative electrode; and an arithmetic unit which determines a maximum value of the change of sodium hydrogen carbonate concentration with respect to the electric current value measured by the ammeter, while referring to the salt concentrations measured by the salt concentration meters, the electric current value measured by the ammeter, and a preacquired data base, and which controls the flow rate of the high-concentration saline within the positive-electrode chamber so as to result in the maximum value.
