Lift for disabled person in house

The lift (1) may be used to give disabled people access to the attic floor of a house, especially a bungalow with an added attic floor. The lift may have a cage big enough for one person standing up, and the front of the cage may be closed by a door with two leaves. The lift is supported by a vertically running chain (5) and is guided by vertical columns (2). There are several sprockets or pulley wheels (4) fastened to a beam just under the ridgepole of the roof. The chain runs over the first wheel, turns through 90 degrees and runs horizontally until clear of the lift and runs through big angles, approximately 180 degrees, over second and third drive wheels connected to a motor (6). A counterweight is attached to the end of the chain remote from the lift cage.
